Tony Roberts (born David Anthony Roberts on October 22, 1939 in New York) is an American actor who is best known for his work in the films of Woody Allen. In Annie Hall, he played Alvy Singer's best friend, Rob (who calls Alvy "Max"); other Allen films in which he has appeared include Play it Again, Sam and A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy. On stage he appeared as Charley in the musical How Now, Dow Jones and later notably opposite Julie Andrews as Toddy in the Broadway theatrical version of the musical film Victor/Victoria. On television he has appeared on The Carol Burnett Show and Law & Order.
