Thomas Hauser (born 27 February, 1946 in New York City, USA) is an American author.

He made his debut as a writer in 1978 with "The Execution of Charles Horman". It was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize and adapted to Billy Wilder's film Missing.

In 1991 he was awarded the William Hill Sports Book of the Year award for His Life and Times, a biography of the boxer.
