The Used is a band from Orem, Utah, United States. The band's genre is often widely debated, even within their fanbase with some claiming them to be, amongst others, post hardcore, pop rock and pop punk. The band has refused to comment on this issue with Bert McCracken (vocalist) stating in an interview with Kerrang! that he "doesn't care about what genre they are as long as they make good music."
Their self-titled debut album The Used ended up going gold. The band later released Maybe Memories, a live album featuring the songs from their self-titled album and previously unreleased home demos that also included live footage and interviews on DVD. They released their second album In Love and Death through Warner Bros. Records, on September 28, 2004. The album has since also gone gold. Their third album is due out in late 2006 early 2007.
The two bands' version of "Under Pressure" was finally released online in 2005 for the Hurricane Katrina relief effort.
