The Mercury is a daily newspaper, published in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. The Sunday edition of the paper is called Sunday Tasmanian.

The newspaper was started in 1854 by John Davies, then published twice weekly and known as the Hobarton Mercury. After Davies' death, it was carried on by his sons under the name of Davies Brothers Ltd. In 1988, it was sold to News Corporation.

As of 2005 the paper reports its Monday-Friday circulation as 48,630 with readership of 130,000 and its Saturday circulation as 63,550 with readership of 155,000. The Sunday Tasmanian reports circulation of 60,720 with readership of 136,000.
