Trivia
- "Stone Cold" Steve Austin wanted to play the main role of this film. Supposedly not getting the role was one of the reasons he walked away from WWE in 2004.
- Kurt Angle was considered for the role prior to Cena.
- The film was originally planned for a January or February 2006 release, then moved to Spring 2006 and finally again to its release date of September 29, 2006.
- John Cena was absent from WWE programming for a period of time to film this movie. In order to not break storyline, the reason for his absence given on WWE programming was that he was stabbed in a bar fight. Cena went as far as to claim the incident as 'real' on various radio stations. This incident also furthered the feud between Cena and Carlito and his bodyguard Jesús.
