The Geisha is a musical comedy in two acts. The score was composed by Sidney Jones. The libretto was written by Owen Hall with lyrics by Harry Greenbank. Additional songs were written Lionel Monckton and James Philip. First performed 1896 the original production ran for 760 performances. This run, at the time by far the most successful show of its era, would be beaten three years later by San Toy also written by Jones, Greenbank and Monckton.
