The Friday Night Project is a programme that first aired in the United Kingdom on the Channel 4 network in February, 2005.

Each week Justin Lee Collins and Alan Carr welcome a celebrity guest onto the show. The guests provide an opening monologue, invite Alan and Justin to delve into their unique celebrity world and also face a no-question-barred session from the studio audience. Added to this, there are comedy sketches, hidden camera stunts, plus a studio game show where a person from the audience is selected to win some top prizes.

A very popular part of the show which also features members of the studio audience is where the Guest Host has a game called 'Who knows the most about the guest host' and the team who answers the most correct questions wins and the captain (either Alan or Justin) runs into one side of the audience wearing a golden coat with hundreds of £5 notes attached to it. The audience will literally dive onto them to get the money.

Music each week is provided by a weekly guest house band.

Miscellaneous

  • The web and print publishing company The Friday Project alleges that the series stole its name from their site, or at least failed to check in Google first. This has led to The Friday Project creating a spoof site displaying mis-spelt feedback from Friday Night Project viewers and JLC(Justin Lee Collins) Fans. A common feature of The Friday Thing email newsletter they produce is a selection of some of the most idiotic emails intended for The Friday Night Project.
  • The Friday Night Project is not live, but recorded on the Thursday night before at The London Studios.
