Thamesville is a small town located at the old junction of Highways 2 and 78, now local roads and a road between Chatham and London in Ontario. Its name comes from the Thames River that flows nearby and the suffix -ville. It has a very small downtown with many notable restaurants and stores. Students here get bussed to Dresden, Ontario for Secondary Education (Lambton Kent Composite School). Thamesville has one Public Elementary School (Thamesville Area Central School), and one Catholic Elementary School (The Good Shepherd)
