The Texas Kangaroo Rat, Dipodomys elator, is a kangaroo rat that is native to Texas where it lives in mesquite brush. The species is listed as threatened by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the IUCN lists the species as vulnerable.

The Texas Kangaroo Rat has four toes and a long tail with a distinctive brushy white tip.
