Talisman of Death is the eleventh book in the Fighting Fantasy gamebook series, written by Mark Smith and Jamie Thomson, illustrated by Bob Harvey and originally published in 1984. Unlike most Fighting Fantasy books, Talisman of Death is set not in the series' usual fantasy world of Titan, but rather in Smith and Thomson's own world of Orb (also the setting for their Way of the Tiger gamebook series).
The reader is charged with protecting the Talisman of Death, a relic of awesome power, from the forces of Evil.
Unlike most other Fighting Fantasy books, the reader is in fact a regular person from another world (presumably Earth), drawn into Orb at the will of the gods.
This book's structure presents similitudes with The Lord of the Rings novel, by J.R.R. Tolkien.
