TPAL one of the methods to provide a quick overview of a female's obstetric history. The other method often used is gravida/para or '''GPA.

In TPAL, the T refers to term infants, the P refers to premature births, the A refers to abortions, and the L refers to living children. The TPAL is described by numbers separated by hyphens. 5-0-1-4 would be equivalent to T5, P0, A1, L4. Note, the abortions may refer to abortions or spontaneous abortions.
