The Total Nonstop Action (TNA) X Cup is a variety of professional wrestling tournaments competed for by international X Division wrestlers as part of the TNA wrestling promotion.
The two competing teams would have 4 singles matches, 2 tag team matches, and one 8-man elimination tag match. The tournament was based on a points system where the winning team was the one with the most points at the end of the event, singles matches were worth 1 point, the tag team matches were worth 2 and the elimination match was worth 2 points per elimination.
The World X Cup was a TNA tournament-like event first held in 2004 which pitted four teams of four wrestlers each against each other. Like the America's X Cup, each team represented a different country and standings in the competition were based on a point system.
The original World X Cup would see four teams enter at the same time competing in a variaty of matches, namely: a Gauntlet Battle Royal, where the last two remaining wrestlers would earn a point for their team and would compete against each other for a further two points; the next series were tag team matches for two points; following this was a ladder match where a member from each team would compete for four points. From here the team with the lowest score would be removed. One member from each remaining team would then compete in an Ultimate X match for the final five points.
For the tournment's return in 2006, the scoring was changed. Round one consists of tag-team matches worth 2 points each. Round two consists of singles matches worth 3 points each. And in the final round, a 16-man gauntlet, with the winning team getting 5 points, and the runner up getting 2 points.
