Victory Road 2004 was the first monthly professional wrestling pay-per-view event held by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. It was televised live from Soundstage 21 at Universal Orlando Resort in Orlando, Florida on November 7, 2004. The promotional poster and DVD cover feature Jeff Jarrett, Monty Brown, A.J. Styles and Jeff Hardy.
Previously, TNA had taped a weekly two-hour pay-per-view event from its inception, but ended the practice in September 2004 with the success of their free weekly show, TNA iMPACT!, at the time airing on FOX Sports Net.

The first two men in the ring were Kazarian and Sonjay Dutt. The order of entry after them was Puma, L.A. Park, Jerrelle Clark, Miyamoto, Michael Shane, Hector Garza, Nosawa, Mikey Batts, Alex Shelley, Matt Sydal, Sonny Siaki, Jason Cross, Shark Boy, Psicosis, D-Ray 3000, Amazing Red, Spanky and Chris Sabin.
The order of elimination (who eliminated them in parentheses) was Puma (Michael Shane and Kazarian, or Shazarian), Jerrelle Clark (Shazarian), Miyamoto (Shazarian), Sonjay Dutt (Alex Shelley), L.A. Park (Shelley), Nosawa (Sonny Siaki), Mikey Batts (Hector Garza), Matt Sydal (Shelley), Shark Boy and D-Ray 3000 (Siaki), Alex Shelley (Jason Cross), Sonny Siaki (Spanky and Chris Sabin), Michael Shane (Spanky), David Cross (Psicosis), Psicosis (Amazing Red), Amazing Red (Kazarian), Spanky (Sabin), and Chris Sabin (Garza).
Hector Garza and Kazarian were the final two entrants in. Hector Garza won by pinfall with a roll-up after he countered Frankie Kazarian's pin attempt. (26.30)
NOTE: Due to threats of legal action by World Wrestling Entertainment in regard to ring aliases, Michael Shane may be referred to as Matt Bentley in future DVD releases of TNA Victory Road.
- Lucha Libre Minis Contest: Mascarita Sagrada defeated Piratita Morgan(2:52)
- Mascarita Sagrada won by pinfall with a small package.
Piper tries to get Jimmy Snuka to hit him with a coconut, wanting to atone for a similar incident when Piper hit Snuka over the head with one in
1984 with the
WWF. Snuka refused. Kid Kash came out and berated Piper, but got hit with the coconut when he tried to attack Snuka. Kazarian and Michael Shane came in and double-teamed Snuka, who was saved by
Sonjay Dutt. Kash recovered and took Sonjay out, but was then run out of the ring by Piper.
- Christopher Daniels was first to be pinned by James Storm after a reverse Death Valley driver. Daniels made it up in an 8-count.
- James Storm was pinned by Christopher Daniels after the Powerplex. He got up in a 9-count.
- James Storm was pinned again by Christopher Daniels after a chair shot to his injured knee. Storm was eliminated.
- Christopher Daniels was pinned by Chris Harris after a leg drop off the top rope. Daniels was eliminated.
- Chris Harris was the last man standing after hitting the Catatonic on Elix Skipper on a steel chair. It was a controversial finish, as referee Andrew Thomas counted a pin despite Skipper appearing to kick out at two.

With 55.6% of the vote,
Dusty Rhodes defeated
Vince Russo. His first order of business as Director of Authority was to book a match at
TNA Turning Point between AMW and Triple X in a
Six Sides of Steel Match.
After the match, Kevin Nash stated that he, Hall and Jarrett were taking over, and challenged the rest of TNA to stop them. They fended off A.J. Styles and 3Live Kru, but as the event went off the air, Randy Savage came out to challenge them.

Debuts and Returns
TNA Victory Road 2004 marked the returns of several big names to TNA Wrestling, including Scott Hall, Hector Garza, Nosawa, Miyamoto, Matt Sydal, Jason Cross, Psichosis, and LA Park. (aka La Parka). It also marked the debut of several major names within the company, including Kevin Nash, Randy Savage, Puma, and Jimmy Snuka.
In the Pit with Piper
The story behind the
Piper's Pit knock off segment dates back to one of the most infamous segments ever involved with Roddy Piper in which he (playing a heel in the 80's) rendered face Jimmy Snuka unconscious with a blow with a coconut to the back of a head. The segment was meant to be for retribution, but ended up starting a storyline involving the coconut that lasted through the following month.
Milestone Matches
- America's Most Wanted and Triple X's violent Last Team Standing Match was marred by injuries and concussions. The resulting rematch at Turning Point was the final match either of the two competed in.
- The Monster's Ball Match competed in by Raven, Monty Brown, and Abyss has become a staple hardcore gimmick within TNA Wrestling. Monster's Ball was brought back at Bound For Glory in a 4-way match featuring Jeff Hardy, Rhino, Sabu, and Abyss that some state stole the show at the event.
