Major Moments

Sean Waltman

Sean Waltman had originally been scheduled for the four-way tag match for the Pay Per View as the partner of Alex Shelley, as the men had teamed to win the Chris Candido Memorial Tag Team Tournament. Waltman disappeared and couldn't be reached prior to the show, nor for about a week following the event. As a result, he was suspended and wasn't seen on-air till January at TNA Final Resolution 2006.

Johnny Candido

In light of Waltman's disappearance, Johnny Candido (the brother of deceased superstar Chris Candido made his first (and to date, only) TNA Wrestling appearance. Alex Shelley had originally been wrestling alone in the four-way tag match, but was rescued when Candido (who was sitting in the crowd) jumped the guard rail and entered the fight. Unfortunately, it didn't help their team, as they were still the first eliminated from the competition.

AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels vs. Samoa Joe

This feud was a long-anticipated encounter between three of the major superstars in TNA Wrestling. Daniels had been the longest reigning champion at the time, Styles remained the top star in the company, and Joe was heavily anticipated in light of his impressive run with Ring of Honor. The match didn't disappoint, as many fans consider it to be the 2005 Match of the Year. It was awarded a maximum "five stars" by wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer, who is infamous for his reservation of five-star awards.

While AJ Styles emerged victorious from the matchup, he did so by pinning Christopher Daniels. According to TNA Wrestling, due to Samoa Joe not having been pinned in the competition, his winning streak remains intact despite not winning the competition.

The three men have had two repeat encounters since Unbreakable, namely at TNA Against All Odds 2006 as well as an Ultimate X match at TNA Destination X 2006. According to many fans, neither rematch has lived up to the impressive showing of the original encounter.
