Jushin Liger

On the April 8, 2006 episode of TNA iMPACT!, Larry Zbyszko announced that Jushin Liger would face Christopher Daniels at Lockdown, with Daniels's TNA X Division Championship at stake (provided he retained the title in his April 13, 2006 bout with Samoa Joe). Later reports from the Wrestling Observer and PWInsider claimed that scheduling conflicts and communication errors would oblige Liger to miss the match in order to fulfil his Japanese commitments. On the April 13, 2006 episode of iMPACT!, commentator Mike Tenay gave the explanation that Liger had refused to fight inside a steel cage. Tenay also stated that Liger would be the captain of Team Japan for the TNA 2006 World X Cup Tournament. Liger was replaced by the returning Low Ki, billed as "Senshi".

Raven

In the course of the event, the debuting Christy Hemme gave commentator Mike Tenay an envelope containing a message from "TNA management" to be read publicly. The message stated that TNA Management would be undergoing an overhaul, TNA championship committee member Larry Zbyszko had been placed on probation due to questionable conduct, and that his firing of Raven had been overturned. Raven then entered the arena and attempted to attack Zbyszko, who responded by locking himself inside the cage until being restrained by security guards.
