Lockdown 2005 was the sixth monthly professional wrestling pay-per-view event held by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. It was televised live from Soundstage 21 at Universal Orlando Resort in Orlando, Florida on April 24, 2005. The promotional poster prominently features Kevin Nash, Diamond Dallas Page, A.J. Styles, Jeff Jarrett and The Outlaw (Kip James). The DVD cover replaced Nash and Page with Monty Brown and Abyss, respectively.
Lockdown was unique in that all the matches were Six Sides of Steel Matches, where the hexagonal TNA wrestling ring was totally surrounded by steel fencing. Many fans derided this pay-per-view for the fact that every single match was performed this way, except for the pre-show match, posing an extremely high risk of ending the careers of several wrestlers due to severe injuries. Unfortunately these fears would prove justified as several wrestlers left the event injured; most notably Chris Candido, who suffered a leg injury and died four days later due to complications stemming from an infection caused by not taking time out to recover after having surgery on the leg.
__NOTOC__
Both wrestlers accidentally knocked out referee Rudy Charles, and D'Amore and A-1 tried to interfere. D'Amore tossed in a chair, then opened the cage and climbed in with the hockey stick, but Roode accidentally knocked out D'Amore with the chair. With Cassidy Riley out to neutralize A-1, Rhodes got the third fall and won the match after hitting Roode with the chair. (15:18)
Sonjay Dutt was the first one eliminated, pinned by Shocker after receiving both a Superkick by Michael Shane and a Twisting Elbowdrop from Shocker, who gave the big boot to Shane to prevent him from getting the pin. (10:56)
Traci attempted to interfere but Trinity pulled her down. Trinity then climbed up and performed a moonsault from the top of the cage onto all three men. Traci came in through the door and speared Trinity, neutralizing her.
Michael Shane was second to be eliminated, pinned by Chris Sabin after the Cradle Shock. (14:03)
Shocker won the match after landing on the floor outside the cage. Chris Sabin fell out at the same time, but the referees ruled that Shocker landed first. Shocker became Number One Contender for the TNA X Division Championship, and got a shot at the title at Hard Justice. (15:35)
Chris Harris spent most of the match outside the cage, locked out by A-1 as Eric Young and Petey Williams double-teamed James Storm. In the end, A-1 tried to smuggle powder to Petey Williams, but Storm kicked the powder into Petey's face, making him put the Canadian Destroyer on Young and setting up the end.
Waltman (bringing a trash can) and Jeff Jarrett (bringing his guitar, his title belt and a trash can with weapons inside) began the match. The order of entry for the others are The Outlaw (with a trash can lid), DDP (with a kendo stick), Monty Brown (with a baseball bat) and B.G. James (with another trash can lid), who was not revealed as the mystery partner until he came from the back. When he came in, B.G. hit everyone on Jarrett's team, a cameraman and referee Rudy Charles, but did not hit The Outlaw, allowing his teammates to take care of him.
