Swizz Beatz (born Kasseem Dean) is a New York American hip hop producer of Jamaican and Puerto Rican descent who is best known for producing tracks for the Ruff Ryders record label since the age of 16, but began his music career by Deejaying for clubs and house parties in Atlanta. Swizz Beatz also has his own record label called Full Surface, which is a subsidiary of J Records. Swizz Beatz has produced music tracks for rappers such as Jay-Z, DMX, Styles P., Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes and many others. Swizz makes his beats in Monza studios which he owns and has a 11 million dollar house that he bought from Madonna. He is married to R&B singer Mashonda. Swizz just recently signed Eve to his Full Surface Imprint according to billboard.com. He also owns a night club in Scottsdale, Arizona called CBNC. More recently, Swizz has produced track(s) on, and become a guest vocalist on Busta Rhyme's multi-platinum selling Aftermath debut ; ' The Big Bang ', the songs being 'New York Shit' ( vocalist) and 'Touch It' ( Producer.) He is also heavily involved with DMX's new album, 'Year Of The Dog...Again', already producing the 1st lead-off single - ' We In Here.'

Production Style


Swizz's production style mainly consists of repetitive, pounding horn strings ( 'Bring 'Em Out , 'Get it on the floor' etc.) and a pumping bassline, occasionally layered with DJ scratches ( eg. 'Don't You Ever by DMX and 'Money, Cash , Hoes' by Jay-Z .) He has colaborated with Tommy Collado from long island on numerous beats for Jay Z His songs are usually very 'bouncy' and energetic. In most modern Swizz Beatz productions, the quick phrase 'Swizzy' is uttered at the beginning and is accompanied by guest vocals from Swizz himself, although often uncredited.
