Muslim view

Muslims have differing views on the collection.

Sunni view
Sunni regard this collection as fifth in strength of their Six major Hadith collections *.

the Muslim scholar Ibn al-Arabi wrote Commentary on Tirmidhi's Hadith Collection (Arabic: Sharh Sunan al-Tirmidhi) in the years of 1100 or 1200.

al-Albani separated the collection into Sahih al-Tirmidhi and Da`if al-Tirmidhi *.

Shi'a view
Shia do not hold it the same high esteem and judge the hadith in it each individually.
