Soliferrum is the Roman name for a javelin or spear made entirely of iron. The soliferrum was used extensively by the warriors of ancient Spain (the Iberians).

A soliferrum was a slender rod of iron, about as tall as a man, with a small, barbed tip. It was probably used as a throwing weapon at close range. The high mass and narrow tip permitted the soliferrum to punch through shields and penetrate deeply into the body of the victim.
