Slam Dunk Ernest is another in a series of comedy films starring Jim Varney as Ernest P. Worrell

Ernest wants to join the basketball team in the city league tornament. He starts out as a mascot but then one of their players gets hurt and so he steps on the court. After he obtains magical shoes which allow him to jump high distances from an archangel played by NBA superstar Kareem Abdul Jabbar he becomes a star player. As the city league tournament winners they play against the Charlotte Hornets and the team gets jealous when Ernest gets the fame for his super abilities.
