Sinoxenic languages are those other than the Chinese dialects which have adopted sinography (and with it a large number of loanwords), regardless of whether or not they still use sinography at present. The three major Sinoxenic languages are Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese. The term does not imply any genetic affiliation with Chinese.
