Sindelfingen has about 60,000 residents and is about 15 km south west of Stuttgart, Germany. It has an economy fueled mostly by the automobile industry, especially by a factory run by DaimlerChrysler. In the middle ages, it was home to a weaving industry, and from that today there are still many fashion firms. The communities Maichingen and Darmsheim were incorporated in 1971.
