The Silings or Silingi (Latin: Silingae, Greek Σιλίγγαι - Siliggai) were an East Germanic tribe living somewhere in Cenral Europe, and later a subdivision of the Vandals.
According to Klaudius Ptolemeus the Silingi lived in what was once called Magna Germania, south of the Suebi-Semnones between middle Elbe and upper Weser rivers.
Next They where part of the migratory movements of the Vandals, into the Iberian peninsula and later on to North Africa.
Klaudius Ptolemeus, 'Geography' writes Back below the Semnones the Silingae have their seat ... and below the Silingae the Calucones and the Camavi up to Mt. Melibocus, from whom to the east near the Albis river and above them, below Mt. Asciburgius, the Corconti
Some 19th century and modern writers connect the Silingi to the region of Silesia, in the southern part of Poland and the northern region of the Czech Republic.
