Shere is a village in the Guildford district of Surrey, England. It is about 7 miles east of Guildford, on the A25.

Shere is also a civil parish, consisting of the villages of Shere, Gomshall, Holmbury St Mary, Peaslake, and most of Abinger Hammer.

Early in February 2006 the village was turned into a film set for Columbia Pictures next 'blockbuster' called Holiday starring Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet and Jude Law. Many houses have been converted into shop fronts for the duration. The craft shop near the church has been completely gutted and transformed into the 'Waverley Cafe' and rumour has it that the White Horse pub will be used at some point. Perhaps the best 'prop' of all is the replica of a country cottage which can be seen in a field behind Shere Church.

If you like a day out over the week-end then this village is the ideal location for a lunchtime drink or a tasty meal in the White Horse Pub (Chef & Brewer) or Kingham's Restaurant around the corner. Being only 30 miles from London makes Shere the ideal destination for a day out.
