Sharmell Sullivan-Huffman, better known simply as Sharmell (born November 2, 1970 in Gary, Indiana), is a Diva and manager for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), under its SmackDown! brand. She first came to prominence in the wrestling world while a member of World Championship Wrestling (WCW).

Career

Miss Black America (1991)

Sharmell Sullivan won the Miss Black America pageant in 1991. The pageant that year was overshadowed by accusations of rape by another competitor, Desiree Washington, against Mike Tyson, who served as a pageant judge. After winning the title, Sullivan would begin a career in professional dance. She would tour with several hip-hop artists and R&B bands, including a 3½ year stint with James Brown.

World Championship Wrestling (1999-2001)

Sullivan joined World Championship Wrestling's Nitro Girl dance troupe in 1999 under the name Storm. When the Nitro Girls began becoming more involved in WCW storylines Sullivan found herself as valet for The Artist, redubbing herself as Paisley. She would also valet for Kwee Wee and become involved in his feud with Chris Candido and his wife/manager Tammy Lynn Sytch. This feud would see her wrestling in a number of mixed tag matches and the occasional singles match against Tammy.

Sullivan was also a part of the pop music group Diversity 5 with other Nitro Girls Fyre, Spice, Chae, and Tygress.

World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment

When WCW was purchased by Vince McMahon in mid 2001 Sharmell was among the WCW personalities that was offered a WWF contract. She accepted and was sent to the Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) "farm league" to train before her debut. Although she did train as a wrestler in her time in OVW she was called up to RAW as an interviewer, spending her time interviewing various stars.

In November of 2001 she went down to the Bahamas to shoot footage for the Tropical Pleasure Home Video/DVD and Divas 2002 Magazine alongside other Divas. In March 2002 she appeared on the special WWF Divas TV Special called "Sex on the Beach" and then she appeared in a Divas Video, DVD and Magazine during that April. Also in April 2002 she appeared on WWE SmackDown!, where she fell prey to an injury. Subsequently she was released from her WWE development contract.

Sharmell married wrestler Booker T in March 2005 and returned to the SmackDown! brand alongside him in April 2005. They immediately got into a feud with Kurt Angle, where Angle called Sharmell a "gutter slut" and started stalking her, claiming that that was what she liked. The feud ended when Booker beat Angle at Judgment Day 2005. Afterward Angle tried to handcuff Sharmell to the ring, but Booker stopped him, handcuffing and beating Angle instead. While Booker was attacking Angle and Sharmell repeatedly smacked him and finished by kicking Angle in the groin. Shortly afterward Angle was drafted to the RAW brand.

Sharmell was involved in a short feud with MNM and Jillian Hall, as part of a storyline where MNM member Melina was trying to show her dominance over the other SmackDown! Divas. Melina defeated Sharmell.

After this small feud, Sharmell began to show frustration over Booker T's weak win/loss record at the time. She began providing "assistance" to Booker T during his matches which, though they usually lead to a win, but Booker either didn't appear to want or sometimes even know about.

Sharmells heel turn was made official when she started interfering with Booker's matches. She tripped Rey Mysterio giving Booker a chance to have a shot at the WWE United States Championship which was held by Chris Benoit at the time. Sharmell's assistance and aid to Booker caused Benoit to lose his title when she gave Benoit a low blow while Booker T and the referee were both distracted. Thus Booker became the new WWE United States Champion. The next week, Booker saw the footage, offered Benoit a rematch, and made Sharmell offer an "apology." The apology turned out to be a set-up as Booker then ambushed Benoit, and started his own heel turn. After this she began announcing Booker T before his matches and interviews (My Man! Booker T!) and openly injerjecting herself into his matches. She also began capitalizing on her status as a former Miss Black America by wearing gowns, a tiara, and a sash.

At the same time the debuting Boogeyman began making a name for himself on SmackDown! by doing creepy things. Eventually he set his sights on Booker T and Sharmell and started stalking the duo. The feud resulted in a handicap match at WrestleMania 22 with The Boogeyman on one side and Sharmell and Booker T on the other. Sharmell and Booker T lost this match when Sharmell was chased off when The Boogeyman gave her a kiss with a mouthful of worms. The following Friday night on SmackDown!, Booker presented general manager Theodore Long with a restraining order, saying that Boogeyman couldn't come within 100 feet of the couple. That night, however, during Booker's match with Gunner Scott, The Boogeyman's music "accidentally" played, distracting Booker and allowing the unknown Scott to score an easy win.

Sharmell was re-christened Queen Sharmell not long after Booker T won the King Of The Ring Tournament in Mid 2006, and re-christened himself King Booker. Sharmell and other members of his court would stand with King Booker as he feuded with Bobby Lashley.
