Seiko Instruments Inc. (セイコーインスツル株式会社, SII) is a Japanese electronics company.
It produces electronic components (semiconductor devices), precision parts, watches, scientific instruments, machine tools, printers, network items, IC dictionaries, etc. Headquartered in Makuhari Business District, Mihama-ku, Chiba, Japan.
The company was set up as a factory "Daini Seikosha Co., Ltd.", literally the second workshop for manufacturing SEIKO watches in Kamedo, Koto, Tokyo in 1937, so is also making SEIKO watches even now. Its Suwa Factory split off as Suwa Seikosha Co., Ltd. in 1959 is now known as Seiko Epson Corp. SII is one of three core companies of the SEIKO Group and independent from either Seiko Corporation or Seiko Epson Corporation.
