Sean Anthony Banks (born January 20 1985, in New York City, United States) is a professional basketball player formerly of the NBDL's Tulsa 66ers. Banks is a 6'8" forward who attended the University of Memphis, where he was named the Conference USA Freshman of the Year in 2004. Banks is a graduate of Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, New Jersey. His career at Bergen Catholic High School was embroiled in controversy. He had multiple run-ins with the law, most notably when he burned his gang's symbol on a female's ankle with a cigarette. He was arrested his senior year, when running from the police in his coach's automobile, and ended up crashing into a snow-bank. Nevertheless, John Calipari took a gamble and offered him a basketball scholarship. In his sophomore year at Memphis, he was asked to leave the team for undisclosed reasons.

Banks was signed by the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets as an undrafted rookie free agent in the summer of 2005. He was assigned to the Hornets NBDL affiliate Tulsa. On Jan. 5 2006 he was waived by the Hornets and thus released by the 66ers.
