Scutellaria barbata is a plant used in traditional Chinese medicine. Other names include ban zhi lian (), scullcap or skullcap, barbat skullcap, skute barbata, or herba scutellariae barbatae.

A substance with potential antineoplastic activity has been isolated from the plant. Herba scutellariae barbatae containing the antioxidant flavonoid, scutellarin, has been shown to induce apoptosis of ovarian and breast tumor cells in vitro. (NCI Thesaurus)
