Scene Maker is a party game that loosens up the crowd by putting players in embarrassing situations. The rules are made up by general consensus as the game progresses. This often turns into a make out game, but this is entirely dependant upon the crowd playing.

ITEMS YOU WILL NEED A pad of note sized paper A pen or pencil A good supply of two kinds of items to vote with such as coins or colored candy or two kinds of paper ripped into bits. As an option players may wish to vote by a show of hands, but this may inhibit members from voting for the wilder challenges. One small container (not transparent) referred to as the “poll bag”. A private area such as a room that is large enough for all players and the challenges they will perform.

RULES You are not allowed to look into the poll bag when voting. Players must hide the challenges they write and the votes they make from other players. The penalty for breaking a rule is to draw a challenge and have to perform it.

RULES FOR CHALLENGES Must be something that can be done in the room, and only in front of other players Must require no special skill or physical stamina

No physical pain, no permanent marks, must be safe to do

Additional rules may be added to suit each group

HOW TO START The group sits in a circle Decide which item means which vote, here are some suggestions:

Green candy = Play Penny = Play Colored paper = Play Red candy = Discard Nickel/dime = Discard White paper = Discard Pass the pad of paper, and pen around, everyone writes two challenges (one per card) for one or two contestants to perform, then places them on the challenge pile face down, and shuffles the pile.

The last person to get the pile (doesn’t matter who starts) is the “Scene Maker”.

HOW TO JOIN A GAME ALREADY IN PROGRESS You must fulfill a challenge, or two challenges if you are rejoining the group.

DRAW The Scene Maker or Scene Makers each put two challenges into the pile.

The Scene Maker shuffles the pile and then reads the top challenge out loud, if there are two or more Scene Makers they each get to draw one challenge and the vote is to do both challenges

The poll bag is passed around for all players to vote on if they want to play the challenge or discard it The votes are totaled and the majority vote decides if the challenge gets played or discarded.

If the challenge is not to be played then it is discarded and the Scene Maker starts over from draw.

PLAY On a three count (one, two, three) everyone holds forth from zero (fist) to five fingers The number of fingers is totaled and the pile is moved around the circle clockwise one person for each number of the count

The person who ends up with the pile is the “Scene Maker”, and has to perform the challenge that was voted through, or must leave the game; if that happens the person to the left side of the leaving player becomes the Scene Maker.

If the challenge requires two people then do a new finger count to find the additional Scene Maker. The first Scene Maker gets to decide the role of the second Scene Maker. Anyone can decide to sit out a round by saying so at this point, but will be required to leave the area until called back. The challenge or challenges are performed. When the majority of players are satisfied with the performance, the game goes back to draw.
