Salesman is a 1969 direct cinema documentary film which follows four salesmen of expensive Bibles door-to-door in low-income neighborhoods in New England and Florida. The film documents the strugges of salesman Paul Brennan, an old Irish Catholic from Boston who struggles to keep up his sales.
It was directed by brothers Albert and David Maysles, and Charlotte Zwerin. The film has been deemed "culturally significant" by the United States Library of Congress and selected for preservation in the National Film Registry.
