Sajeev John, Ph.D. is University Professor of Physics at the University of Toronto (UofT). He is one of the two physicists responsible for pioneering the field of photonic crystals in 1987, and to this day has made valuable contributions to finding and developing applications for this new technology. He is the winner of the 2004 Rutherford Memorial Medal for physics.
