Russell Township is a township in Geauga County, Ohio, USA. It is often known as Novelty, most commonly on mail. It's located in the southwest of Geauga County, bordering Chesterland, Ohio, Newbury, Ohio, and South Russell, Ohio. Russell is the home of the American Society of Metals, whose headquarters is marked by a gigantic geodesic dome, visited by Buckminster Fuller upon its completion. Major roads include OH-306 and OH-87. The township symbol, the raccoon, is derived from the name of Geauga county, which was the native's word for raccoon.
