Runaway: A Road Adventure is a point and click adventure game released by Péndulo Studios, S.L. in 2001. The game follows the long tradition of two-dimensional adventure games like the first two installments of the Broken Sword series. It enjoyed immense popularity in countries like Germany, where the adventure genre is still very much alive. The Spanish version of the game was the first to become available for purchase, with other localizations waiting up to three years for their publication. Runaway has been released on CD-ROM and DVD-ROM.

The Dream of The Turtle is about to be released in the second quarter of 2006.

Story

Brian Basco sets off to California, but does a quick stop on his way there to pick up a book at a bookstore. But he never comes that far, because a girl runs over his car and passes out. Brian takes her to the hospital, and finds out that some guys killed her father and are now after her! He runs away with her, with the guys following them. Now, the runaway has started.

Fan sequels

A fan sequel is in the making, named Runaway 1.5. They use their own-developed engine, which they've called RAGE (RunAway Game Engine), which is coded in C++.
