Royal Rumble 1992 was the fifth annual Royal Rumble professional wrestling pay-per-view event from the World Wrestling Federation. It took place on January 19, 1992 in the Knickerbocker Arena located in Albany, New York.
Results
- Dark match: Chris Walker def. The Brooklyn Brawler
- Walker won by disqualification through a reversed decision.
- The New Foundation (Owen Hart and Jim Neidhart) def. The Orient Express (Pat Tanaka & Kato w/Mr. Fuji)
- Hart pinned Tanaka after hitting a Rocket Launcher. (17:17)
- WWF Intercontinental Championship match: "Rowdy" Roddy Piper def. The Mountie (w/Jimmy Hart) (c)
- Piper won by TKO when he applied the sleeper hold on The Mountie. (5:18)
- After the match, Piper avoided Jimmy Hart's attempt to strike him with a cattle prong causing Hart to strike The Mountie instead.

- The Beverly Brothers (Blake Beverly & Beau Beverly w/The Genius) def. The Bushwackers (Luke Williams & Butch Miller w/Jamison)
- The Beverly Brothers won the match when Blake pinned Butch. (14:55)
- Following the match, The Bushwackers held down The Genius while Jamison kicked him.

- World Tag Team Championship match: The Natural Disasters (Earthquake & Typhoon w/Jimmy Hart) def. The Legion of Doom (Hawk & Animal) (c)
- The Natural Disasters won the match by count out. Because of this, the Legion of Doom retained their titles. (9:22)
- Despite not ending up as champions, The Natural Disasters took the belts after the match until Hawk came back into the ring and hit them with a steel chair. Hawk then left with the belts.

- WWF Championship match: Ric Flair won the 1992 Royal Rumble
- The final two participants were Ric Flair and Sid Justice. Hulk Hogan, who was just eliminated by Sid, was not pleased over the result and so grabs Sid. This distraction helps Flair to eliminate Sid and become the new WWF Champion. (1:01:58)
- This was the first and to date only time the WWF/E Championship (or any other championship) was contested in a Royal Rumble. The championship was vacated in late 1991 after the controversial finish to the Hulk Hogan vs. The Undertaker match at the Tuesday In Texas pay-per-view event.
- During the match, Randy Savage jumped over the top rope after the just-eliminated Jake Roberts forgeting about the rules of the Royal Rumble match as this would usually mean an elimination. It was covered up with explaination that Savage was not eliminated because he wasn't eliminated by any particular person.
- Following the match, Hulk Hogan and Sid have a brawl in the ring while Ric Flair is interviewed backstage over his win.
- The final two participants were Ric Flair and Sid Justice. Hulk Hogan, who was just eliminated by Sid, was not pleased over the result and so grabs Sid. This distraction helps Flair to eliminate Sid and become the new WWF Champion. (1:01:58)
