Randall Kroszner is a governor on the Federal Reserve System's Board of Governors. He was sworn in to the Board on March 1st, 2006. Before being appointed by President George W. Bush, Kroszner had been a professor at both the University of Chicago and the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business. He also served on President Bush's Council of Economic Advisors.

As an economist, he was widely praised for his astute research, especially regarding banking and financial regulation. His views on economics tend to be of the hard-line Chicago approach, meaning that he praises free markets above all else. Kroszner received his B.A. from Brown University and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Harvard University, both in Economics.
