Qurghonteppa (formerly known as Kurgan-Tyube, from the Persian word گرگان تپه meaning "Hills of Gurgan") is a city in southwestern Tajikistan. It is the capital of the Viloyati Khatlon region. Qurghonteppa is the fourth-largest city in the country with a population of 60,000 (2000 census).
