Pure pot still whiskey is an Irish whiskey made from barley and distilled in a pot still. It is similar to Irish single malt whiskey, however, the grain used to make the spirit is a combination of malted and unmalted barley, while a single malt is made of only malted grain. The ratio of unmalted to malted barley can vary, in general there tends to be more unmalted barley eg. 60:40 (unmalted:malted) ratio in the Pot Still Whiskey used in the various Jameson blends.
