Designers often create a prototype or concept for a business but before a final version. The prototype contains all the essential components, is used to verify the approach, test the design (i.e., find its strengths and weaknesses), and provide a basis for further enhancements or a final version. Often prototypes are functionally equivalent to final products, with only small changes.
