The Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) is a one-year course in Scotland for undergraduate degree holders that allows them to train to be a teacher.
The course was previously known as the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) (the name it still retains in the rest of the United Kingdom). The course content is identical to the old PGCE.
Those wanting to teach at primary or secondary education must qualify through the following routes:
