This is a list of Transylvanian rulers

Before the Battle of Mohacs, Transylvania was a largely autonomous voivodate inside the Kingdom of Hungary. The battle lead to the dissolution of the Hungarian Kingdom. Transylvania acquired some more territories from Hungary proper and became a Principality under Ottoman suzerainty. The last voivode became the first prince.

The Great Principality of Transylvania was dissolved 1867 and his territory incorporated in the Hungarian Part (Transleithania) of the Austro-Hungarian Empire (1867–1918). Transylvanias territory was part of the Kingdom of Romania between 1918 and 1940, divided between Hungary and the Kingdom of Romania between 1940 and 1945, and is a part of Romania since then.
