This article is about the Danish paper Politiken. For the Swedish paper Politiken, see Folkets Dagblad Politiken.

Politiken is a Danish daily broadsheet newspaper, published by JP/Politikens Hus, one of Denmark's leading media companies. It is published with the goal of being an independent mouthpiece of social liberalism in Danish politics. The newspaper was formerly affiliated with the political party Det Radikale Venstre, but has long shed its traditional ties to any specific political parties.

Dagbladet Politiken was founded October 1, 1884 in Copenhagen by Viggo Hørup, Edvard Brandes and Herman Bing. It had an original daily circulation of 2,000 copies. The paper established its present location in downtown Copenhagen at Rådhuspladsen ("City Hall Square") in 1912.

The daily edition of Politiken has 505,000 readers making it the third-most read newspaper in Denmark after competitor broadsheet Jyllands-Posten and tabloid B.T.. The Sunday edition of Politiken has 552,000 readers.

Politiken Weekly is the international edition of Politiken.

JP/Politikens Hus

JP/Politikens Hus (translated, "House of JP/Politiken" or "Politiken Corporation") was created January 1, 2003 as a merger between Politikens Hus, formerly publisher of Politiken and tabloid Ekstra Bladet, and Jyllands-Posten. The merger was administrative, and both papers kept their editorial independence.

In addition to publishing these major newspapers, JP/Politikens Hus' businesses also include book publishing, printing, local newspapers in Denmark and Sweden, as well as a number of multi-media concerns.
