Plinio is a variety of elm tree, a hybrid between the Dutch hybrid elm Plantyn, and the Siberian Elm Ulmus pumila. It was bred by the Istituto per la Protezione delle Piante, in Florence, and released for sale to the public in 2003.

Plinio (named for the early Roman scientist Pliny the Elder) is a well-rounded tree with a broad crown, the width typically equalling 70% of height, and a short, straight trunk. The leaves are up to 150mm long and glabrous on both sides. Plinio is highly resistant to Dutch Elm Disease and fast growing (though slower than its sibling variety San Zanobi) in Italy, where it commences flowering in its third year.
