Pieris is two different genera:

• Pieris is a plant genus in the Ericaceae family.
• Pieris is a butterfly genus in the Pieridae family.
• Pieris is also an ancient name of Kondariotissa and an ancient tribe where the name Pieria originates
• Another Pieris existed near what is now the southwestern portion of the Kavala prefecture in eastern Greek Macedonia. It is now a municipality covering most of the ancient Pieris.
