Overview

Peterhead FC are a football club based in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. They currently play in the Scottish Football League Second Division, following promotion in 2004-2005.

Their home ground is Balmoor in Peterhead, with a capacity of 4000. The present player-manager is Iain Stewart, assisted by player-assistant manager, Paul Mathers.

Peterhead's traditional rivals are the Highland League team Fraserburgh F.C. - however since their election to the Scottish Football League, this rivalry has waned somewhat.

History

They were founded in 1890 and initially played in the Aberdeenshire League, before switching to the Highland Football League in the 1930s. A revamp of the Scottish Leagues saw them granted league status in 2000 along with local highland rivals Elgin City.

In season 2004-2005 they got their first promotion after finishing second in Division Three.
