Pentalog is a computer engineering and systems company whose activity is focused in five areas: maintenance outsourcing, network and telecommunications, system integration, software and computing services consulting.
Based in Orléans, France Pentalog maintains offices in Bordeaux and Paris. They also have offshore business units with offices located in Romania (Braşov and Bucharest) and Moldova (Chişinău). The company has a direct presence in 3 countries worldwide, with further 6 countries served through partner agreements.

International business represents 40% of Pentalog's global income and 80% of employees speak two or more languages.

History

In 1995 Frédéric Lasnier, president of Pentalog, decided to take his company public by selling shares to his employees. Pentalog acquired their first international customers in 1997, and by 2000 exports accounted for 25% of sales.

After many experiences in North America and Western Europe, Pentalog High Tech is involved in emerging countries such as Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria, Kenya and Myanmar.

Services

Pentalog High Tech helps to set up and administrate networks and telecom resources. The company also develops software, run and administrate analysis platforms and ERP solutions.

Pentalog's management model is based upon standard consulting firms. Many employees are shareholders of the company, and the employees themselves control almost 60% of the capital.

The Port

The Port - main Pentalog software product, is an Internet port, which needs all the infrastructures and controls existing in a seaport. The name The Port was imagined by analogy with a seaport. To this notion of port is attached a notion of city and, by analogy, the city of The Port is the company which possesses The Port.

The Port becomes in this way a virtual entrance of the company which manages it. An entrance by which one can get in touch with people, consult the catalog of products, negotiate, order and buy goods, take or deposit documents, or also follow the evolution of its orders.

The Port is also thought of as a methodology and a standard in the development of corporate I-net applications. It has to enable the company to satisfy all its needs: intra, extra, internet, from a single platform.
