Paul Miki is a saint of the Roman Catholic Church. He was born in Japan in 1564 or 1565. He joined the Society of Jesus and was responsible for preaching the Christian gospel to many people in Japan. He was crucified together with twenty five other Catholics in the city of Nagasaki on February 5, 1597 after the banning of Christianity.
