Paul Doumer (March 22, 1857 – May 7, 1932) was the President of France from June 13, 1931 to his death.

Born in Aurillac, in the Cantal département, in France.

He was Governor-General of French Indochina from 1897 to 1902. In Vietnamese, his last name was pronounced similar to đụ-mẹ, meaning approximately "to copulate with one's mother". (John DeFrancis, Chinese Language: Fact and Fantasy, ISBN 0828408665)

He was elected President of the French Republic on May 13, 1931, defeating Aristide Briand.

On may 6, 1932, he was assassinated in Paris at the opening of a book fair by Paul Gorguloff, a mentally unstable Russian émigré. He died at 04:37 a.m. on May 7.
