The Oneirocritica is considered the first book on dream interpretation, it was written by the Roman Artemidorus after traveling extensively and interviewing people about their dreams and the outcomes of the dreams. In this book, Artemidorus brought out the idea that dreams are unique to each individual, and that the person's waking life would affect the symbols in the dream.
