Old Boy (Japanese:オールド・ボーイ) is a Japanese manga, written by Minegishi Nobuaki and artwork by Tsuchiya Garon. It follows the story of a nameless man (later going under the pseudonym Yashizawa) who seeks revenge upon his captors who imprisoned him for 10 years, however Yashizawa has no idea who his captors were and must analyse his past.
In 2003 it was adapted into the award winning Korean film Oldboy by South Korean director Park Chan-wook. The film was a huge international success and went on to win various awards including the prestigious Grand Prix of the Jury at the 57th Cannes Film Festival awards ceremony.
In 2005, Dark Horse Comics bought the rights to make an English translation for its customers worldwide. Volume 1 of this new translated series will be available on July 5, 2006.
