O.R.B: Off-World Resource Base (or simply O·R·B) is a space strategy game developed and published by Strategy First. Gameplay is similar to Homeworld, in that the player can move units in all three spatial dimensions. There are two fully developed races in the game, the Malus and the Alyssians. Each race has their own unique technology and campaign. The two races share the solar system where much of the story takes place. There are also three sub races, including the Aldar, Elathen and the Kyulek. The story begins from the Malus point of view, who, along with the Alyssians, worship an ancient race called the Aldar as gods. The Aldar were defeated many millennia ago by the Elathen, also called the Silencers, because they were betrayed. The symbol of this betrayer is also the symbol of the Alyssian people, and when an Alyssian probe crashes on Malus, the Malus clan known as the Night Sky Clan embark on a religious crusade against the Alyssians. However, some point before contact with arival Malus clan (Ftorrek)who you apparently obliderate, although they show greater signifigance in the Alyssian campaign. They drive the Alyssians out of the solar system, but the second half of the game is from the Alyssian point of view, where they return to their home system and rediscover an ancient fleet of Aldar vessels. The player captures as many of these vessels as he can to defeat the re-awakened Silencers.
